Ovalle Culture Festival 2026 Calls Regional Musicians to Apply
The Municipal Cultural Corporation of Ovalle has opened applications for the 2026 edition of the Festival Ovalle Cultura, a regional music event in Chile’s Coquimbo region. Submissions are accepted until 23:59 on 3 August 2026. The festival, funded by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage’s Fondo de la Música, will feature two simultaneous stages in Plaza de Armas, showcasing 11 selected regional artists and one invited national act.
A selection committee of regional and national music representatives will choose projects, aiming for a balanced territorial representation (six from Limarí, three from Elqui, two from Choapa) and at least 30 % female participation. Proposals must include a 30‑minute original set, with a minimum of 30 % of the repertoire inspired by local culture, history or heritage.
Festival Director Ifman Huerta Saavedra emphasized the event’s role in highlighting the Coquimbo region’s sonic identity and fostering cultural pride.
