Overseas Community Affairs Council hosts global young entrepreneur exchange
The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) hosted the ‘2026 Global Young Business Potential Star—Young Entrepreneur Exchange Meeting’ on July 20. The event brought together over 70 young entrepreneurs, emerging business leaders, and second-generation successors from Taiwan and around the world to discuss organizational resilience and innovative management in a changing global landscape.
OCAC Chairperson Xu Jiaqing emphasized that for Taiwan’s export-oriented economy to navigate global economic volatility, businesses must remain flexible and seek cross-industry and cross-regional partnerships. The council aims to provide a resource platform to help overseas Chinese entrepreneurs scale into influential ‘unicorn’ companies.
The exchange featured insights from academic and industry experts. Professor Huang Zhiyan of Feng Chia University analyzed challenges such as geopolitical shifts, supply chain restructuring, and rapid AI iteration, advocating for digital and green transitions. Panelists shared practical experiences in aerospace startups, smart medical education, and food manufacturing, focusing on integrating AI, managing long sales cycles in Southeast Asia and India, and enhancing operational resilience through data-driven decision-making.
