Overseas Koreans Agency announces World Korean Day award recipients

The Overseas Koreans Agency has announced the recipients of government awards for the 20th World Korean Day. The list includes 26 recipients of the Order of National Merit, 11 recipients of the Presidential Order of Merit, 34 Presidential Citations, and 24 Prime Minister Citations. The honorees represent a diverse group of individuals and organizations, including entrepreneurs, Korean language school teachers, athletes, artists, and community leaders.

Ha Kyung-seo, Chairman of the El Salvador-based Caesar Group, has been awarded the Order of Mugunghwa, the highest grade of the Order of National Merit. Ha has been recognized for his business success in Central America and his significant philanthropic contributions to the overseas Korean community, including donations to the Global Hansang Dream public foundation.

Other notable recipients include various leaders from Korean associations in Japan, Taiwan, Hungary, and the United States. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on the 28th at the Songdo Convensia in Incheon.
