OVHcloud expands Quantum Platform to bolster European independence
OVHcloud is expanding its Quantum Platform to increase the accessibility and scalability of next-generation computing technology, a move aimed at securing European technological independence. During the VivaTech and France Quantum 2026 events in Paris, the company highlighted its strategic focus on research and development and collaborations with local startup ecosystems.
Fanny Bouton, Quantum & Open Innovation Lead at OVHcloud, explained that the platform utilizes an ‘as a service’ model to democratize access to advanced computational resources by integrating various types of Quantum Processing Units (QPUs). Regarding the relationship between artificial intelligence and quantum computing, Bouton noted that AI is currently being used to help discover potential applications for quantum technology rather than serving as a solution for it. The company also utilizes Belenos, a small quantum computer designed to verify emulation processes.
