Ovidiu Constantin Bunget elected President of Romania's Chamber of Financial Auditors

Ovidiu Constantin Bunget has been elected President of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR) for the 2026–2029 term. The election took place during the CAFR Conference held in Iași on September 12, 2026.

Bunget, a professor at the West University of Timisoara and administrator of A. B. A. Audit, brings over three decades of experience in financial audit, accounting, and consultancy. His professional background includes work with Coopers&Lybrand/PricewaterhouseCoopers and membership in the CAFR since 2006.

His mandate strategy, titled ‘Continuity through Evolution,’ focuses on six main directions to adapt the profession to technological and economic shifts. Key priorities include the integration of artificial intelligence into auditing, the development of sustainability reporting missions, expanding the financial audit market, and attracting younger professionals to the field. The implementation plan is divided into three stages: Foundations (2026–2027), Construction (2027–2028), and Maturation (2028–2029).
