Oviedo and Ourense unveil summer cultural programmes

Oviedo’s cultural agenda for the first week of August features a mix of cinema, theatre and a multimedia symphonic concert marking the upcoming eclipse. The concert “Armonía Eclíptica”, conducted by Anthony Gabriele and backed by the CSIC, will take place on 7 August at the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe. The city also hosts dramatized tours at Teatro Campoamor, the National Amateur Theatre Festival, and open‑air film screenings of titles such as Wicked: Part One, Minecraft, Robot Salvaje and Paddington across various plazas.

In Ourense, the Teatro Principal has opened sales of season tickets for its 2026‑second‑semester programme. Priority booking for last‑season subscribers runs until 21 August, with general sales ending on 7 September. Ticket prices range from €170.05 to €282.15, with discounts for youths, students, seniors and the unemployed. The season opens on 17 September with the play Incendios and will include works by companies such as Mihura, Carlos Blanco, Condetrespés, La Barraca and El barbero de Picasso.
