Oviedo police arrest man after shooting and cocaine seizure

A shooting occurred in the center of Oviedo on Calle Pérez de la Sala, resulting in the arrest of a Dominican national. During the incident, two shots were fired in a public area.

Following the intervention of the Local Police, officers searched a residence on Calle Pérez de Ayala where they discovered a loaded pistol, seven kilograms of cocaine, and approximately 5,000 euros in cash.

The political group Vox has called for urgent security measures in the city. Spokesperson Sonsoles Peralta described the event as a "grave incident" and criticized the local government for a perceived lack of action regarding public safety, noting that previous violent episodes have occurred in the city this year.
