Oviedo to host conference on occupational therapy challenges

The Facultad Padre Ossó will host a conference titled ‘Challenges and new areas of occupational therapy in Asturias’ on October 27 in Oviedo. Held at the University of Oviedo's Historical Building to mark World Occupational Therapy Day, the event aims to analyze new intervention areas and share professional and user experiences.

The program features two main roundtables. The first focuses on neurorehabilitation, featuring specialists from the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA), the Carmen and Severo Ochoa Hospital, and the INYPEMA Clinic. The second roundtable addresses community interventions, including home rehabilitation, mental health, and hemodialysis, with participants from the Red Cross of Oviedo, Fisiogestión, and the Avilés Mental Health Service.

Additionally, the event includes a dedicated session titled ‘Occupational therapy in the first person,’ which provides a platform for patients to share their personal experiences with the care they receive.
