Owen Ansah challenges proposed four-year doping ban

European champion sprinter Owen Ansah has rejected a proposed four-year doping ban from the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) and has requested disciplinary proceedings before the German Sports Arbitration Court (DIS).

The dispute stems from an incident on July 9, when Ansah was allegedly unable to provide a doping sample. Ansah maintains he did not refuse the test, stating he was under time pressure while traveling to Monaco and had just used the restroom when the controller arrived outside the specified time window.

While Ansah is not currently suspended and retains his right to compete, he has already ended his season early due to an injury. However, he faces the potential annulment of his recent results and medals, including his gold in the 200m and bronze in the 100m from the European Championships in Birmingham.
