Owen Ansah struggles in Poland amid doping investigation

At the Diamond League meeting in Chorzow, Poland, German sprinter Owen Ansah failed to advance past the 100-meter heats with a time of 10.22 seconds. This performance follows his recent European Championship success, where he won gold in the 200 meters and bronze in the 100 meters. Ansah currently faces a potential four-year ban proposed by the National Anti-Doping Agency for allegedly refusing a doping test, a charge he denies. While not currently suspended, the legal dispute could impact the validity of his recent results.

In other results, German hammer thrower Merlin Hummel secured second place with a throw of 81.25 meters, finishing behind Canadian Olympic champion Ethan Katzberg. In the discus throw, Lithuanian Mykolas Alekna took first place with 72.58 meters, while German athlete Henrik Janssen finished fourth. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Ethiopia's Gemechu Godana claimed victory, leaving German athlete Karl Bebendorf in seventh place.
