Owen Ansah under anti-doping probe, still allowed to compete

Germany's National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) has opened an "Ergebnismanagementverfahren" against 25‑year‑old sprinter Owen Ansah after he allegedly refused a doping control. The agency said the anti‑doping rules do not require an automatic provisional suspension for this alleged breach, so Ansah remains eligible to compete.

Ansah, who runs for Hamburger SV, holds the German 100‑metre record of 9.98 seconds set on 6 June, having previously broken the ten‑second barrier in 2024. He is slated to race at the German championships in Bochum and could contend for medals at the European Championships in Birmingham starting 10 August. NADA provided no further details, and Ansah has not issued a comment.
