Owensboro Museum preserves Anderson's Department Store history

The Owensboro Museum of Science & History is launching ‘Voices of Anderson’s’, a project aimed at preserving the history and merchandise of the former Anderson's Department Store. The museum is currently housed in the building that once served as the department store.

The initiative seeks to capture local memories of the downtown Owensboro establishment, which was a central hub for wedding registries and community shopping. The project follows the museum's annual ‘Voices of Elmwood’ production and serves as a way for residents to engage with local history through shared personal anecdotes and preserved artifacts.
