Polish fire and rescue teams respond to several emergencies in July 2026

Over the first week of July 2026, fire‑brigade units across central Poland dealt with a series of emergencies. In Łowicz firefighters rescued a trapped bird, aided an elderly woman who fainted at a city event, and extinguished two separate grass‑fire incidents. Near Głowno, 29 firefighters fought a barn fire that destroyed the structure and agricultural equipment but caused no injuries. In the Dębica district, fire services handled six incidents including two road accidents, two fallen trees blocking roads, an oil spill, and a minor collision.

Police and rescue authorities also reported related actions. In Łódź, officers used radar to stop an electric scooter rider travelling nearly 40 km/h, exceeding the 20 km/h limit on the bike path. In Lubin, two medical rescue workers were detained after drug tests revealed amphetamines; both were removed from duty pending legal proceedings. A fire in Lutynia exposed a family homicide: a 20‑year‑old woman died, her mother was seriously injured, and a 22‑year‑old relative was arrested.
