Łowicz investigation launched after fatal camping trailer fire
An investigation is underway following a fatal fire on August 10 in the Zatorze housing estate in Łowicz. A 49-year-old man died from injuries sustained during the blaze, despite resuscitation efforts by firefighters and medical teams.
The fire involved a camping trailer, which was completely destroyed. Preliminary findings from the District Prosecutor's Office in Łódź suggest the fire may have been caused by an open flame. At the time of the incident, three men were present on the property; one 52-year-old man attempted to rescue the victim but sustained burns during the attempt. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Prosecutors are currently analyzing CCTV footage to determine the exact sequence of events. An autopsy has been scheduled, and a fire expert will be appointed to confirm the cause of the fire. Authorities noted that the men involved may have been consuming alcohol prior to the incident.
