Owl Mountains hiking event Zimowe Sowie Dreptanie 2026 to feature two routes

The Zimowe Sowie Dreptanie 2026 hiking event is scheduled for December 5, 2026, in the Owl Mountains (Góry Sowie) within the Sudetes region. Based in Walim, the event will feature two distinct routes for participants.

The classic route covers approximately 31 kilometers with nearly 850 meters of elevation gain. Starting from Walim at 7:00 AM, hikers will ascend toward Włodarz peak, pass through the Soboń and Osówka Nazi complexes, and traverse toward Wielka Sowa, the highest peak in the Owl Mountains, before returning to the finish line.

A new, shorter loop has been introduced for this edition. This 21-kilometer route includes over 600 meters of elevation gain and shares a portion of its path with the classic route. Participants for both distances will begin their journey together from Walim, ascending toward Rozdroże pod Moszną before splitting toward their respective destinations.
