Owlcat Games reveals detective system for Dark Heresy

Owlcat Games has revealed new details regarding the detective system in the upcoming role-playing game, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. The system is designed to allow players, acting as Inquisition acolytes, to investigate crimes and heresy by collecting physical evidence, interrogating witnesses and suspects, and utilizing tools like the servo-ossarium.

Companions within the game provide specialized assistance, such as medical expertise, survival skills, or insights into xenos behavior. A key feature of the gameplay is the moral and strategic weight of the player's decisions. Players are not strictly required to find the absolute truth; they can choose to accuse a suspect based on available evidence or even frame someone if it serves their long-term goals. The game emphasizes that once a judgment is made, players must live with the consequences, even if new evidence later suggests the accused was innocent.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is scheduled to launch on Windows PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
