Owlcat Games Says It Would Consider Developing Baldur's Gate 4

Owlcat Games co‑founder and creative director Alexander Mishulin told IGN the studio would view taking on Baldur’s Gate 4 as a “great challenge.” He thanked fans for their confidence, describing the studio as “a little bit masochistic,” and said the project would be considered despite the company’s current workload on Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy and The Expanse: Osiris Reborn.

Mishulin emphasized that any Baldur’s Gate 4 developed by Owlcat would be markedly different from Larian Studios’ vision, noting that Larian has already stepped away from the sequel to focus on its Divinity franchise. No official agreement has been announced, and the studio clarified that a potential BG4 would reflect Owlcat’s own design DNA rather than replicate Larian’s formula.
