OWN Network to premiere documentary on Team Dream volleyball history

The OWN Network will premiere a new documentary titled ‘We Belong Here: The Story of Team Dream’, which chronicles the history of the first all-Black women’s professional volleyball team. Directed by Bianca Barnes-Williams and produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, the film follows 12 Black women who formed the team in 2018.

Despite having limited practice time, the group competed in the USA Volleyball Open National Championship. The documentary, told through the direct accounts of the players without an external narrator, explores how the team broke barriers in a sport where Black representation has historically been limited and the systemic challenges they encountered while pursuing excellence.
