Oxa and Dubai Future Foundation launch SHIFFT autonomous logistics venture
British autonomous‑vehicle technology firm Oxa has partnered with the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) to create a joint venture called SHIFFT. The partnership established the Autonomous Logistics Future Lab in Dubai, aiming to develop and test autonomous vehicle solutions for high‑throughput industrial settings such as ports and airports. The venture will integrate Oxa’s self‑driving software, cloud fleet‑management tools and specialised sensors into local work‑site vehicles, with a commercial rollout targeted for the end of 2027.
SHIFFT supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33), which seeks to double the emirate’s foreign trade by 2033 by enhancing logistics efficiency and resilience. Oxa CEO Paul Newman said the collaboration will “accelerate the commercialisation of Industrial Mobile Autonomy technology,” while Khalifa Al Qama, chief of Dubai’s RDI Ecosystem, highlighted the project’s role in creating new economic opportunities and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global logistics hub.
