Oxford Biomedica shares plunge after 2026 revenue forecast cut

Oxford Biomedica, the UK cell‑and‑gene therapy company spun out from the University of Oxford, saw its shares fall more than 24% on Friday. The drop followed a revision of its 2026 revenue outlook to £180 million‑£200 million, down from the previous guidance of £220 million‑£240 million.

The company attributed the cut to operational delays at its newly acquired Durham, North Carolina facility, which pushed the site’s readiness back by six months, and to deferred orders from a major client. It also noted a first‑half core loss linked to planned maintenance shutdowns and integration costs. Despite the setback, Oxford Biomedica maintained its medium‑term targets of 25‑30% revenue growth and about £500 million in revenue by 2030, with a mid‑single‑digit core profit margin expected for 2026.
