Strathcona County extends EHS contract through 2029

Strathcona County has agreed to extend its Emergency Health Services (EHS) contract with the Province of Alberta through March 31, 2029. This extension ensures that residents will continue to receive the same ambulance services under the county’s current integrated Fire EMS model.

The agreement maintains existing contract terms and does not incur additional costs for the renewal. The move follows recent notifications from the Alberta government regarding changes to emergency medical services funding, which would have required municipalities to either absorb more costs or transition to province-selected providers.
