Oxford physicist proposes experiment to test existence of time

Oxford University quantum physicist Vlatko Vedral proposes a theory challenging the fundamental existence of time. Vedral suggests that there is no actual stream of time, a claim that contradicts the traditional understanding of spacetime established by Einstein’s theory of general relativity.

To test this hypothesis, Vedral plans to conduct an experiment using gravity to place two microscopic diamonds into a specific quantum state. If successful, the experiment could force physicists to re-evaluate the nature of time and the relationship between quantum mechanics and gravity, potentially requiring a rewrite of the history of the universe.
