Oxigen Sports Club acquires Daco-Getica sports base in Bucharest

The Oxigen Sports Club, established by the Sector 2 City Hall, has taken over the Daco-Getica sports base (also known as Juventus Colentina) on Fundeni Road. The facility, which spans over four hectares, returns to the administration of Sector 2 after 23 years.

Sector 2 Mayor Rareș Hopincă announced that the club has also taken over the Daco-Getica Academy, which will be renamed the Oxigen Academy. The project aims to expand the academy's capacity from approximately 450 children to 900 through planned modernization of the sports fields.

To support the initiative, several prominent football figures have joined the project: Bogdan Lobonț will serve as a technical consultant, Toni Petrea as academy coordinator, Alin Chița as the senior team coach, Tibi Bălan as the youth team coach, and Cristi Cîmpeanu as the coordinator for children and juniors. The club intends to offer various disciplines, including football, athletics, boxing, chess, basketball, and handball, with a focus on youth education and prevention rather than high-performance professional investment.
