Oxley Police officers gather for National Police Remembrance Day
Officers from the Oxley Police District gathered at St Nicholas' Catholic Church in East Tamworth for a solemn service to observe National Police Remembrance Day. The annual event, held on September 29, honors police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
In addition to Australian officers, the day of remembrance extends to police forces across the Pacific, including Papua New Guinea, Samoa, and the Solomon Islands. During the service, Oxley District Inspector Kylie Chinnery read the names of the fallen. Acting Superintendent Detective Inspector Andrew Barnes described the occasion as a “day of reflection” to honor those who died while performing their duties.
