Żołynia hospice receives relics of Saint Mother Teresa

Relics of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta were brought to the chapel of the Nursing and Care Facility in Żołynia on September 4, 2026. The ceremony, held on the eve of the 10th anniversary of her canonization, was led by Archbishop Adam Szal.

During his homily, Archbishop Szal reflected on the nature of holiness and the legacy of Mother Teresa. He contrasted her service from a position of extreme poverty with the humanitarian work of Princess Diana, noting that Mother Teresa’s actions were rooted in recognizing the divine in others. The Archbishop also referenced the historical context of her beatification in 2002, which was attended by hundreds of thousands of faithful, including members of the Missionaries of Charity.
