Solomon Adeola threatens lawsuits over Ogun ancestry claims

Senator Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Ogun State, has threatened legal action against Hon. Abayomi Hunye and Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello. The threat follows televised claims by both individuals alleging that Adeola is an indigene of Ekiti State rather than Ogun State.

Adeola issued a 24-hour ultimatum for the accusers to provide evidence of his alleged Ekiti origin, describing the statements as libelous and false. Hunye, a suspended APC member, has welcomed the potential litigation, calling the ultimatum a diversionary tactic and stating he is ready to prove the allegations in court.

In separate regional developments, the pan-Yoruba organization Afenifere has raised alarms regarding an upsurge in banditry and kidnapping across southwestern Nigeria, including Oyo, Ondo, and Kwara states. Additionally, in Oyo State, APC candidate Sharafadeen Alli has criticized Governor Seyi Makinde, warning against the potential diversion of a €55 million French concessional loan intended for healthcare modernization to fund political activities.

In Osun State, the APC has challenged Governor Ademola Adeleke’s plan to implement a government-backed motor park management system, labeling the move unconstitutional following recent violent clashes involving transport union factions.
