Oyo Governor Makinde Announces New Commissioners and Adviser Resigns to Pursue 2027 Gubernatorial Bid
Special Adviser on Labour Matters to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Comrade Sikiru Bayo Titilola‑Sodo, resigned on Monday to focus on his ambition to contest the 2027 Oyo State governorship election. Titilola‑Sodo, a veteran labour union leader, said the resignation would allow him to build a grassroots movement and devote his full energy to the upcoming race.
Governor Makinde also forwarded the name of Permanent Secretary Olabode Ladipo for confirmation as a state commissioner and appointed several officials: Ifeoluwa Akande as Chairman of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, Isola Adekunle as Executive Adviser on Intra‑Party Affairs, and Oladejo Oladokun as a part‑time member of the Local Government Service Commission. Additional appointments included Musibau Babatunde as the new Secretary to the State Government, the transfer of Barrister Temilolu Ashamu to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, and the designation of Senior Special Assistant on Public Works Ademola Aderinto as a commissioner‑designate, among others.
