Oyo State Governor emphasizes entrepreneurship and trade partnerships

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has highlighted the necessity of entrepreneurship, skills, and intensive production to achieve sustainable economic prosperity, noting that natural resources alone are insufficient for growth. Speaking at the 10th anniversary of CapitalSage Holdings in Ibadan, Makinde reaffirmed his administration's commitment to creating a business-friendly environment through improved infrastructure, security, and investment facilitation.

In a related development, the 2026 Oyo State International Trade Fair, EXPOYO 2026, officially opened in Ibadan. The event, themed “Trade Without Borders: Connecting Oyo Entrepreneurs to Africa’s Business Opportunities,” aims to promote local enterprises and attract investment. Professor Salihu Adelabu, the Commissioner for Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry, emphasized the potential for the fair to foster innovation and strengthen business relationships. Key initiatives mentioned include a proposed dry port in Akinyele and leveraging opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
