Oyo State promotes 1,535 local government staff

The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission issued promotion letters to 1,535 employees across the state's 33 local government areas as part of the 2025 promotion exercise. The promotions cover Grade Levels 06 to 17 and involve staff from seven departments: Administration and General Services (288), Agriculture and Natural Resources (57), Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics (40), Education and Social Services (431), Environmental Health Services (44), Finance and Supplies (315) and Works, Housing, Lands and Survey (360).

Chairman Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole presented the letters, stating the exercise reflects Governor Seyi Makinde's commitment to workers' welfare, motivation and career progression. He described the promotion as a demonstration of the administration's aim to build a professional, efficient and well‑motivated local government workforce capable of delivering quality services at the grassroots level, and linked it to the Omituntun 2.0 agenda for staff capacity building and improved welfare packages.
