Oyo State to host 2026 World Pharmacists Day celebrations

The Oyo State branch of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) will host a week-long celebration for World Pharmacists Day from September 19 to September 27, 2026. The event is themed ‘Empowering Pharmacists for a Healthier Future.’

Expected attendees include Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde and PSN President Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim. The program aims to highlight the role of pharmacists in public health, medication safety, clinical practice, and healthcare innovation.

Adebayo Olukayode Gbadamosi, Chairman of the planning committee, stated the event serves to advocate for the integration of pharmacists into health policies and to emphasize the need for government investment in the profession to build resilient health systems. Victor Segun Ajanaku, Chairman of the PSN Oyo State branch, noted that the celebration will also recognize practitioners who enhance the credibility and impact of the profession.
