Oyster Yachts unveils first sailing catamaran at Cannes

Oyster Yachts has unveiled the C60, its first sailing catamaran, at the Cannes Yachting Festival. This launch marks a significant strategic shift for the British builder, which has focused exclusively on monohulls for over five decades.

Designed in collaboration with the French naval architecture firm Berret-Racoupeau, the 63-foot, 9-inch vessel is engineered for bluewater offshore passage-making. Key technical features include up to one meter of bridgedeck clearance to support demanding ocean crossings and 2,519 square feet of upwind sail area.

The decision to enter the multihull market followed more than a year of research involving current owners, former owners, and prospective buyers. Oyster Yachts CEO Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke stated that the move responds to growing demand for the space, stability, and comfort offered by catamarans among long-distance cruising sailors.
