Ozama River Floating Bridge to close Saturday for maritime maneuvers

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced a temporary closure of the Floating Bridge (Puente Flotante) over the Ozama River this Saturday, October 3. The closure is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM to facilitate maritime maneuvers involving three vessels.

During this period, the barge IMI 105 will depart from the Joseph Industrial Development Corp. shipyard, while the tugboat TUG GREEN NICPYA and the barge HYGRADE 42 will enter the facility. The execution of these maneuvers is subject to weather and navigation conditions; unfavorable circumstances may lead to a suspension or rescheduling of the activity.

The bridge serves as a vital connection between the National District and Villa Duarte in Santo Domingo Este. To avoid delays, the MOPC recommends that drivers use the Matías Ramón Mella, Juan Pablo Duarte, and Juan Bosch bridges as alternative routes.
