Ozempic, a medication containing the active ingredient semaglutide, has gained significant global attention for its role in weight loss, despite being primarily intended for treating chronic metabolic disorders such as diabetes.

As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, semaglutide mimics a natural hormone produced in the intestines.
