Ozoir-la-Ferrière assault leads to 13 arrests after mistaken identity

Thirteen individuals, aged between 18 and 23, have been arrested following a violent assault in Ozoir-la-Ferrière, southeast of Paris, in late June. The attack occurred during the night of June 26 to 27, when four vehicles drove toward a group of young residents sitting in a housing estate. The assailants then attacked the group, using weapons including a hammer, which resulted in one victim sustaining a serious eye injury.

Investigations revealed that the attack was a case of mistaken identity. The suspects were allegedly targeting a romantic rival of one of the group members, who was not present at the time of the raid. Following the incident, five of the suspected aggressors reportedly visited the hospital to apologize to the victims after realizing their error.
