Ozzy Osbourne: Farewell concert film premieres in Los Angeles
The concert film ‘Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning’ premiered in Los Angeles, honoring the late heavy metal icon following his death in July 2025. The documentary captures the final live performance of Ozzy Osbourne and the original Black Sabbath lineup, which took place on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham. The event raised approximately £11 million for charity.
Sharon Osbourne attended the premiere alongside her family, reflecting on Ozzy’s final weeks. She noted that despite battling emphysema and Parkinson’s disease, the singer felt a sense of joy and was ‘flying high’ following the performance. Sharon also revealed that the true severity of Ozzy’s declining health had been kept private from his children and bandmates to protect them.
The farewell concert featured a massive lineup of rock and metal artists, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, and Pantera. While Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine noted the band did not participate due to scheduling and lineup timing, he expressed deep respect for the Osbourne family. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 28.
