P. J. Washington linked to Los Angeles Lakers in trade rumors

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly interested in acquiring Dallas Mavericks forward P. J. Washington as they look to bolster their roster. While the Mavericks have not officially indicated a desire to trade the 28-year-old, rival teams believe Dallas may eventually consider offers.

Several factors contribute to the speculation, including uncertainty regarding Washington's role under new Mavericks coach Dusty May and the presence of other forwards on the roster. Washington, who averaged 14.2 points and 7.0 rebounds last season, is currently entering a four-year, $88.7 million extension, making him a valuable asset for potential trade discussions.

A move to Los Angeles would reunite Washington with his former teammate Luka Doncic. Although the Mavericks have expressed commitment to keeping the player, industry insiders suggest his name could return to the trade market soon.
