P3 Gull introduces new Album of the Year category

The P3 Gull music awards ceremony, scheduled for November 6 at NRK Marienlyst in Oslo, will introduce a new category: Album of the Year. Jury chairman Daniel Ramberg stated the addition is an acknowledgment of the album format, noting that while listeners increasingly rely on curated playlists and algorithms, artists invest significant time and resources into creating cohesive full-length works.

The nominees for the inaugural Album of the Year award include:

• Tomora (Aurora Aksnes and Tom Rowlands) for ‘Come Closer' • Iris Caltwait for ‘Again, for the first time' • Konradsen (Jenny Marie Sabel and Eirik Vildgren) for ‘Hunt, Gather' • Tobias Sten for ‘Heimakjær' • Ary for ‘Darkstar'

The ceremony will be hosted by Arian Engebø and Hedda Gundersen Gullikstad. In addition to the new album category, awards for Breakthrough of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and the P3 Prize will also be presented.
