Argentina regional events: Tourism expo in Río Gallegos and production updates in Eduardo Castex

Río Gallegos is preparing to host a new edition of Expo Turismo, a two-day event featuring various destinations from the Santa Cruz province and the wider Patagonian region. Tourism Secretary Mercedes Neil noted that the event aims to strengthen regional tourism ties, including participation from Chilean providers, to encourage local family travel despite the current economic climate.

In Eduardo Castex, provincial authorities from the Ministry of Production, led by Minister Fernanda González, met to discuss the upcoming Expo Castex 2026 organized by Club Estudiantil. The meeting also focused on the progress of a provincial government project to implement a small animal slaughterhouse (frigorífico) designed for meat processing and vacuum packaging to support the local economy.
