Pablo Farías criticizes neglect of national routes in Santa Fe

National Deputy Pablo Farías has criticized the deterioration of national routes in northern Santa Fe, specifically labeling the condition of Route 11 as “a shame.” During a visit to Las Toscas, Farías highlighted the lack of maintenance on major arteries that require upgrades to highway or expressway standards due to high traffic volumes.

Farías alleged that funds derived from fuel taxes, which are legally earmarked for road and water infrastructure, are being diverted to finance the national deficit through various financing mechanisms. He also addressed the government's proposed concession model, which would grant private companies 20-year contracts to manage routes. Under this scheme, companies would handle basic maintenance in exchange for collecting tolls, with estimated costs for automobiles around one dollar per 100 kilometers.
