Pablo Hasél rejects prison visit request from Josep Rull
Rapper and poet Pablo Hasél has publicly rejected a request from Josep Rull, president of the Parliament, to visit him in Lledoners prison. In a letter published by the PRES. O. S. association, Hasél accused Rull of attempting to “whitewash” his image and gain electoral advantage.
Hasél criticized the Junts party, noting its role in past government repression and its failure to support those affected by amnesty exclusions. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the party's policies regarding healthcare, housing, and prison conditions. He noted that previous visits from political figures did not result in improvements, but rather led to harsher conditions and periods of isolation.
In a separate event, a group of poets gathered in La Trenca to recite verses in support of Hasél. The gathering highlighted the ongoing controversy surrounding his imprisonment, which stems from convictions related to the glorification of terrorism and insults to the Crown, as well as subsequent sentences for aggression against a witness and a journalist.
