Pablo Marcos Ortiz charged with sexual abuse and fraud

Pablo Marcos Ortiz, a prominent Peronist leader, Vice President of Cormecor, and councilman of Alta Gracia, has been formally charged with sexual abuse involving carnal access, theft, and fraud.

The investigation, led by Prosecutor Alejandro Peralta Otonello, also encompasses allegations of gender-based violence, psychological and economic abuse, threats, and coercion. According to the complainant's lawyer, Daniela Ferrari, the relationship lasted 16 years and was marked by long-term violence, including episodes of strangulation and economic control.

In addition to the sexual abuse charges, Ortiz and Julieta Balchori, a former secretary, have been charged as alleged co-authors of attempted simple theft and fraud through the disruption of agreed rights. Balchori also faces charges of concealment.

The judiciary has issued protection orders prohibiting Ortiz and Balchori from approaching, communicating with, or contacting the complainant. These restrictions apply to her home, workplace, and other frequented areas. Ortiz and Balchori are scheduled to appear for questioning in November.
