Pablo Peirano suspended six matches following Bucaramanga-Cali clash
Following a tense 1-1 draw between Deportivo Cali and Atlético Bucaramanga at Palmaseca stadium, Dimayor has issued significant disciplinary sanctions against Atlético Bucaramanga personnel.
The conflict escalated during the final minutes of the match after a penalty was awarded, leading to a confrontation between players and coaching staff. Rafael Dudamel, the Deportivo Cali coach, criticized the behavior of Atlético Bucaramanga's staff, stating the incident left a “bad image for Colombian football” and calling for maximum sanctions.
In response, Atlético Bucaramanga coach Pablo Peirano rejected the criticisms, stating, “Rafael Dudamel is dirtying me, and Bucaramanga, and it does not seem fair to us.”
Dimayor has since sanctioned Peirano with a six-match suspension and a fine exceeding 10 million pesos for improper conduct toward a match official after entering the field. Additionally, player José García received a two-match suspension and a fine of approximately 758,000 pesos for violent conduct against an opponent.
