Pabna residents demolish and scavenge house of rape and murder suspect

In Kulonia village of Pabna Sadar upazila, angry residents have demolished the two-story house of Mostafa Kamal, the primary suspect accused of raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl. Following the destruction of the structure, locals have begun scavenging the site, removing bricks, sand, and even foundation rods to sell elsewhere. Some residents are currently excavating the soil from the site to create a pond.

Participants in the demolition stated the goal was to leave no trace of the suspect's residence as a warning of the consequences of such crimes. However, the family of the victim has expressed frustration and anger regarding the legal process. They noted that while the physical house has been completely leveled, the police investigation has not yet resulted in a formal charge sheet.

The victim's relatives have accused the administration of negligence, demanding that the investigation be completed quickly to ensure justice and prevent the case from being compromised.
