Pabst Brewing Co. offers $20,000 reward for stolen beer

Pabst Brewing Co. has announced a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the recovery of approximately 40,000 pounds of stolen beer. The theft occurred on August 17 at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center in Montclair, California, located about 40 miles east of Los Angeles.

According to Montclair police, the heist took place in two separate incidents on the same day. In the first instance, $45,000 worth of beer intended for Tucson, Arizona, was picked up but never delivered. Roughly one hour later, a company using fraudulent documents successfully picked up an additional $25,000 worth of product. The stolen goods include 1,602 cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Old Milwaukee non-alcoholic beer.

Pabst CEO Greig DeBow expressed a desire to have the inventory returned by September 9. The company has utilized social media to appeal for assistance, noting that while a garage full of beer might seem impressive, the theft is a serious matter. Total losses are estimated at $70,000.
