Collegiate athletics: UTSA secures historic football win over Colorado State

Various collegiate athletic competitions took place recently across several sports. In football, UTSA secured a historic 59-45 victory over Colorado State at the Alamodome, marking the highest combined scoring game in UTSA history. Despite an early 14-0 deficit, UTSA's offense, led by quarterback Owen McCown's 303 passing yards, overcame a struggling Rams defense that allowed 542 total yards.

In volleyball, Oregon State defeated Washington State in a five-set match, highlighted by Jackie Matias recording 68 assists. San Diego State earned its first Pac-12 victory with a 3-0 sweep of Fresno State, while Colorado State also secured a win against San Diego State. Conversely, UC Riverside fell to Sacramento State in straight sets, and Pacific suffered a 3-0 loss to San Diego.

Other results include Boise State men's tennis advancing to the Dar Walters Fall Classic finals after undefeated singles play, and Air Force men's water polo splitting its matches at the Rare Air Challenge with a win over Biola and a loss to UC Santa Barbara. In soccer, Weber State defeated Colorado State 3-1.
