Pacgold reports high-grade gold‑copper discovery at White Dam North
Australian mining firm Pacgold (ASX:PGO) announced a significant high‑grade gold and copper sulphide discovery at its White Dam North prospect, located about 80 km east of Broken Hill in South Australia's Olary Province. Recent reverse‑circulation drilling intersected intervals such as 20 m grading 2.5 g/t gold and 0.5 % copper, including a higher‑grade 6 m section of 7.5 g/t gold and 1.2 % copper, as well as 10 m at 3.4 g/t gold and 0.7 % copper in adjacent holes.
The mineralisation aligns with a one‑kilometre‑long magnetic anomaly, suggesting broader exploration upside. Pacgold cautioned that visual estimates are not a substitute for laboratory assays and said the zone remains open in all directions. Managing Director Matthew Boyes described the find as potentially “the tip of the iceberg” beneath existing oxide resources and announced plans for an extensive induced‑polarisation geophysical survey and further drilling to delineate the sulphide gold‑copper zone.
