Pachmarhi: Three arrested for gang rape of minor girl

Police in the Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh have arrested three men in connection with the gang rape of a minor girl in the hill station of Pachmarhi. The arrests were made within six hours of the victim filing a formal complaint on August 23.

The incident reportedly occurred on August 19. According to authorities, the victim was traveling with a friend when an acquaintance and two other men, including a local gypsy driver, lured them to an isolated forest area. The suspects allegedly tied up the victim's friend and sexually assaulted the minor before threatening the victims with death to prevent them from reporting the crime.

The victim eventually disclosed the assault to her elder sister after she stopped attending college. Following the report, police identified and apprehended the suspects, identified as Hariom, Pawan Bansal, and Abhishek Vanshkar. The accused have reportedly confessed to the crime and face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
