Pachuca implements fines for Tuzobús lane violations
Starting this coming Sunday, motorists in Pachuca who enter the confined lane of the Tuzobús system will face fines ranging from 2,346.20 to 3,519.30 pesos. These penalties correspond to 20 to 30 Units of Measure and Update (UMA).
According to official Orlando Ángeles Pérez, enforcement will be active on the route from the new José María Morelos y Pavón fire station toward Téllez and vice versa. A specific section of the route, spanning from the former Poliforum area toward the city center—including streets such as Revolución, parts of Felipe Ángeles, Allende, Independencia, and Avenida Juárez—will be treated as a tolerance zone where private vehicles may share the lane with Tuzobús units without penalty.
However, officials clarified that this tolerance is specific to that segment and does not constitute general authorization to invade the lanes elsewhere. Drivers caught violating the rules in non-tolerance zones can pay the fine immediately via credit or debit card. Failure to pay will result in the vehicle being impounded, with the owner responsible for both the fine and towing costs.
