Pacific County Superior Court resolves criminal cases

During the August 14 session of the Pacific County Superior Court, several criminal cases were resolved. Alexander Guerra-Alvarez, 27, pleaded guilty to first-degree and second-degree incest charges following an FBI raid on his residence in May. The charges arose after a victim in the home reported sexual assault to law enforcement. Guerra-Alvarez faces a minimum sentencing range of 26-34 months for the first charge and 15-20 months for the second. A formal sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 25.

Additionally, Paul L. Johnson, 42, pleaded guilty to taking a vehicle without permission. Johnson was originally arrested by the Long Beach Police Department in June after an officer identified a vehicle with expired tags as stolen. The charge of third-degree driving with a suspended license was dismissed, and the court accepted a recommended sentence of two months in jail.
