Pacific FC ends sale process, enters mediation with Langford

Pacific FC ownership has announced that the club is no longer for sale, ending a year-long exploration of a franchise sale. However, the club’s future at Starlight Stadium remains uncertain as SixFive Sports & Entertainment enters mediation with the City of Langford.

The dispute involves over $700,000 in contested fees. Ownership, which includes Dean Shillington, Josh Simpson, and Rob Friend, has identified two primary issues regarding the Island Training Centre: a rental fee intended as a disincentive for the club to leave Langford, and a Development Cost Charge for a facility on city-owned land. The club maintains it is not liable for the latter charge and noted that neither item had been applied prior to the dispute becoming public.

Ownership stated they are committed to professional football on the Island and are focused on finding a positive resolution through the mediation process.
